A (Twi)light lunch

As the six girls sat across one another having lunch at the RTB, they realised that there was something eerie about that particular day.

Things were not what they'd been:

• The shrew had not been sighted for days.
• There was a cactus on the window growing in a rather lop-sided way, away from the sunlight (?!)
  
• Four of them were having the same item for lunch using a plastic knife and a metal fork each.

Suddenly out of nowhere, JL passed by. The six girls looked at one another in utter shock. JL turning up in three-quarters instead of a long skirt was a phenomenon that only has competition from the Haley's comet when it comes to rarity. That itself was an indication that the day was different. Things were different. Something was in the air. Something that they could not figure out.

As each of them looked at what the person sitting directly opposite her was wearing, jaws dropped. One by one.

XW - Beige knitted top, watch, silver chain, ear studs
MN - Beige knitted top, watch, silver chain, ear studs

CK - Three-quarters, white formal shirt with pleats, no watch, no chain, similar-shaped dangling white earrings.
KN - Three-quarters, white formal shirt with pleats, no watch, no chain, similar-shaped dangling white earrings.

ES - White cotton singlet, no watch, no chain, colourful dangling earrings
MV - White cotton singlet, no watch, no chain, colourful dangling earrings

It was obvious. Something had connected them. Time had paused momentarily to show them the divine secret of the ya-ya sisterhood.

What the weird observation indicated is something only time will tell. Meanwhile, they were happy to just have the moment captured.

Yikes! One more eerie coincidence spotted:
